Perspectives through Prose, Poetry and Photography

Balanced scales shift, day by day
They give and take, they tilt each way,
‘Til Yin and Yang in disarray,
Scales un-evened, to my dismay,
Unbalanced, savage swing and sway,
He’s gone away.

The scales of balance are constantly shifting. I love the rhyming and how the words flow.

Thanks, Janna. As I was looking through my photos, this one jumped out at me as a way to express the sense of being unbalanced when a relationship ends. besides, I’m a Libra and am drawn to ‘scales’.:)

I tooh this picture with my iPhone, when we were in Mt. Vernon, George Washington’s home, a few weeks ago. As we toured the beautiful, old mansion we were walking through the kitchen area…this picture is of the mantle and such at the open hearth where they cooked all their meals. I can see why scales reminded you of Mom, not to mention the symbol of Libra. That’s probably why I took the picture. Thanks, Ei!
