Grandma…
Crutches…
Stair-flight looms ahead
Family poised; protectively perched below
Daughter: “Stop! Slide down on your butt!”
Grandson: “No, Mom…wa-a-ay too embarrassing!”
(Pearls of wisdom from mouths of babes)
Grandma: “Precious boy-child!”

The above is my response to the Trifecta weekend challenge:
This weekend we’re asking you to write 33 words that will make us laugh or
smile. Even a chuckle will do. We look forward to the communal spirit lifting.
Good luck!
I’m picturing you sliding down the stairs, and it is kind of funny 🙂

And funny…he made me laugh in the midst of dealing with my physical shortcomings. All of a sudden, instead of being a “woe is me” moment, it became a “count your blessings ” moment.

Yes..you would have. We have boys tonight so I will try to ,Jimmie opportunities for looking clumsy. In other words, I’ll stay in bed, leg raised with ice pack in place…no treks downstairs tonight. You are no stranger tithe frustration of immobility…another thing we can share 👯!

I’m so glad you weren’t! It is comical, though. Boys are sleeping here tonight so I expect much assistance from my little helpers.

My own comment: In the face of terror executed on children yesterday, it was tough to find a “chuckle”, as challenged. Instead, I sought to provide a journalistic hug to my grandson. This actually happened yesterday afternoon, and you can be sure, he got an extra long hug, once I made it safely down the stairs.
