Perspectives through Prose, Poetry and Photography
This was written in response to the Trifextra Challenge:
In The Scorpio Races, author Maggie Stiefvater writes, “It is the first day of November and so, today, someone will die.” Give us the next thirty-three words of this story, as you imagine it. Take it wherever you like, but make it original and make it 33 wordsexactly. – See more at: http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com
Carefully snapping the tip of the disposable applicator, I seize Bandit, take deadly aim, and act swiftly to dispense the poison squarely between his shoulder blades, triumphantly exclaiming:

At least I can begin with “Sit!” Cats aren’t into such obedience commands. You’d probably be best waiting for a cat nap, before striking!

Thanks, Ronnie. These writing challenges are very thought provoking. I don’t comfortably delve onto dark subjects, so killing fleas seemed to be a ‘fun’ take on the prompt.

As a lifetime dog owner, collies, shelties…they had their beds. I now have a cav. King Charles spaniel and I’ve learned his definition of ‘lap dog’! Quite a revelation. I’m not complaining👩

Definitely not bed mates! But you must have a very big heart…to go along with your very big family. It always seems that those who are already taxed to the max, are the ones who still find room for others! Kudos!
