Perspectives through Prose, Poetry and Photography
Malevolent Ying Ko (“Eagle’s Beak”),
Ruled ruthlessly; running rampant.
Reformed: Humanity restored,
Resolve renewed.
Perfected psychic powers
Put to noble purpose:
Rid the world of the evil
Lurking in “the hearts of men”.
📚📚📚
Though the origins of The Shadow are many, I chose to retell the story line wherein he had been the evil war lord, Ying Ko, who was kidnapped mysteriously and taught his psychic ability to “cloud men’s minds”; thus making him invisible. He was taught to use this super power to eradicate evil in the world.

WOW! This brought back some memories… I never missed the Shadow… I can hear that laugh now. Boy, that was some time ago… late 40’s.

Yes – it was a long time ago. We used to listen to the radio (though we did have a television) when I was young. Then when I started dating my husband – a fan, he reminded me of The Shadow, having saved the old comic books. Even today he has downloaded old time radio shows of various episodes.Unforgettable laugh!

Actually, the Shadow was the inspiration for BatmaN,whose first episode was a redo of a Shadow plot. In a addition to a comic hero, it was aa radio series, narrated by Oraon WElls. I can hear it now…” The shadow knows…” Followed by aa sinister laugh.
