Why this compulsion to always grip the car-door?
Christmas Eve long ago, a terrified ten-year old
Grasped an icy car-door for dear life;
Saving ‘Her’ from the threat
To jump.
Trifextra Week 48(www.trifectawritingchallenge.com): The challenge:
This weekend we’re asking for 33 of your own words that exorcise a demon. One of your own, or one from your imagination. Let it bleed on the page.
I know this feeling too. Sometimes I actually bite my tongue so words don’t spill out before I want them too.

Irrational fears are so hard to face. Harder I think, than rational ones.

I have the same demon! I can not stand near a ledge for fear I will jump, though I have no suicidal tendencies that I’m aware of. :). I also use the “holdy” thing that Bo so aptly named.

I do almost the same thing in the car. I have to hold on to the holdy thing above the window. I call it the “save me thingy”
